The approach of Jean-François Bardeau was to carry out a collaborative work at the Institute of Marine Sciences (ISMER) of the Université du Québec à Rimouski in order to help colleagues developing new skills in Raman spectrometry. Indeed, this technique has the potential to answer a number of questions related to the chemical properties of the molecular structure of the mareninne, in its different purification states and after various chemical treatments optimized by the UQAR-ISMER team.
